Big Bend,Texas

If you live in Texas, as I do, you must go to Big Bend. It IS BIG, and it's beautiful in a rugged way. It can be sunny and hot in winter and then in the next hour, it can be snowing. My favorite time of the day is sunset when the colors are almost too brilliant to believe. In this painting, I am not exaggerating, they are that intense.

Longhorn:"hugo"

This big guy lives at a ranch in Cypress Mill, Texas, and often lays down near the road so people can admire him. He is huge, hence the name Hugo(I named him) and handsome. If I were a cow, I would be romancing him for sure.
The image is 12x16, oil on canvas. JUST SOLD!

walkers in the park

I people watch all the time; always have. They fascinate me. These folks were strolling along on a sunday morning at Town Lake(now ladybird Lake). I liked the way the light was bouncing off them and how leisurely they were moving.
this is an oil on canvas,12x16.

Old trees at riverside

Near where I live and adjacent to the once Austin Country Club, is the site of an old farm. It's a beautiful 26 acres on a hill overlooking a creek and the golf course. When I used to play there in the 80s, there were cattle alongside the 18th fairway; now the cows are gone as well as the farmhouse. All that is left are 2 very old oaks. Looking between them is a faint view of downtown Austin.
