red roofs in Italy

Some of the villages in Italy just appear, right around a corner where you don't expect them. This one was just like that: tucked in under the trees with a great contrast of the red roofs and the green on the foliage.

spring flowers

although I don't normally paint flowers, I do love them, especially when they are against a rugged background like a stucco wall or an aged barn. The contrast is striking.
This one is 18x24, oil, canvas, framed and priced at, or around, $350. THIS JUST SOLD. MORE ON THE WAY.

feeding the turtles

This was on a Sunday morning which is a special time it seems for families. These little sisters had no idea I was taking their picture. The little one was still wearing her nightgown, plus a tiara which I declined to paint in. They were very serious about the business of getting the turtles fed.

Grace

sometimes I just have to do something different, and when I saw this great rag paper with it's brilliant color, well, I was hooked. There are shadowy shapes in the paper and I embellish them with watercolor pen, and there you have it. Grace is one of my favorites and shehas been sold. I have more paper, but there will never be another Grace.

Longhorn:"hugo"

This big guy lives at a ranch in Cypress Mill, Texas, and often lays down near the road so people can admire him. He is huge, hence the name Hugo(I named him) and handsome. If I were a cow, I would be romancing him for sure.
The image is 12x16, oil on canvas. JUST SOLD!
